History:
He was born on the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Alai raised himself and fought to stay alive as he struggled for a safe place to rest each night. He eventually wandered out of Sau Paulo when he was around 4 years old. He ended up crawling up a drain into a nice suburb in the capital, Brasilia. Taken in by a loving Brazilian family, Alai spent 5 years with them until the war started. The family was a Catholic family and had tried to convert Alai to their religion. Alai had faked it the whole time as he bent down and prayed up to the statue of the crucified man who was their Savior. He had faked it but had always felt a sort of comfort when he knelt and talked to an unseen ruler.
Once Alai was 9, he had become extremely intrigued by the politics and strategic maneuvers that the EU was concocting. He then decided to leave his loving Brazilian family and move on to another place where he would not be bogged down by feelings, religion, or obligation. He knew he was not being thoughtful towards his very generous guardians, but he had other goals in life than just to sit back and watch the world be taken by a power hungry regime. He left them without saying goodbye but left a note thanking them for their hospitality and generosity in his childhood. Alai was going to make a difference in the world that he would not be able to accomplish if he stayed with them.
Alai smuggled himself to Nigeria, one of the great oil producers on the African continent. It was, and still is, very corrupt, but Alai found shelter with a moderately powerful warlord who had influence in the country. Alai played the innocent child very well as he gathered information about Nigeria and Africa as a whole. He found the kind of information that only living there and the natives could provide. He stayed there until he searched so hard for information on the upcoming coup in Nigeria, that it threw him over the edge of suspicion. Within hours of being discovered, he hit the road and made for the ports to get out of the country, alive.
Alai managed to get to get to Amsterdam, Holland, and being 12 years old, he was more than capable of looking out for himself. He was unable to be adopted by caring families because of his age and overall tough attitude. He spent 2 years wandering the streets, making money in odds jobs and then buying clothes for the cold nights on the streets and alley ways of Amsterdam. Once he was 14, he had wandered out of Amsterdam and reached Paris by hitch hiking and spending the nights in gutters and under big trees. In Paris he picked up the language very fast as he listened to the gang that had taken him in. He quickly rose to the top, and through unfortunate circumstances, found himself replacing the shoes of its former leader. Alai was aggressive and used his group to practice his manipulation of the rival gangs in the rough parts of the city. His gang won their pride, honor, and territory through Alai’s planning. He knew how to read, write, and was extremely athletic. He ran all over the city, spying, investigating other gangs, and studying their weaknesses and strengths.
Alai was 16 when something changed his life dramatically. He was walking the streets of Paris when suddenly one man began following him. Alai was used to this because he had become so alert over the past few years. He then noticed another men following parallel to him across the street. Alai fingered his knife handle as he walked on, noticing 2 other men stopped on the sidewalk ahead. He tried to cross the street but a black car came zooming up and blocked his way. Now it was time to run. Alai dashed behind the car and crossed the street, backtracking. As he was running he heard the car screech as it spun around come after him. He tried finding a way to loose them but couldn’t find any. The car brake and spun sideways in-front of him as he was running, forcing him to stop in a roll and pop back up with his knife out. 4 men surrounded him and, being dark, hid their faces well. Alai was just about to try to break through but suddenly felt a sharp pain in his spine. One of his captors moved closer, not swiftly but in a calm and slow movement. Alai was on the ground, his eyes going dark, and looking up at the man. The man’s face came into view, wearing and smile as he said, “We’ve been watching you. It’s time for you to serve.”
5 years later Alai woke up in the middle of a secret military compound on an island off of the East Coast of the United States. The past 5 years had been spent undercover in secret missions for the UC, but now known as “The Resistance.” Being in military training for the past 5 years has sharpened his mind and body to be ready for anything. Alai has led group missions, gone solo on assassination runs, spying, and helped win small battles. Alai has used guns a little, but barely at all. Finding them only somewhat effective in the field, and not owning one, he has learned to counter the guns that are used by the Government agents. He has practiced close combat, stealth, speed, jump, and strength over the past 5 years. He is considered a master of martial arts and has great aim with hand held projectiles. Over the years Alai has not socialized much with his fellow Resistance members, preferring to stick to himself and fulfill his missions to the best of his ability. Alai talks as much and as little as he has to when the situation calls for it but keeps his own thoughts, ideas, and feelings to himself. He has now acquired the nickname of “Deadly Shadow.”
