Just finished a Biology/Chemistry hybrid-ish experiment and got an inspiration to post a topic about bad experiences(ah, the life of a forum junkie). >_>
This particular experiment involved ammonia, vinegar, and boiled cabbage. Yes, the color changes were cool...but the fumes were horrible. My throat still feels strange because of the ammonia. *gaaack*
Feel free to add to the...horror...
*gaack...again*

You do TPS biology, Spica? I just did that experiment, too. Like I have on my away message... One thing I've learned from Biology: Boiled cabbage does not have a pleasant odor. And yes... I sniffed the ammonia... >_> *koff* It smelled like nothing for a split second... then... my nose hurt like crap. Man... that stuff is toxic. I'm writing the lab now... *sigh* Joy...

Hahaha, yeah...ammonia....*trails off*
*ahem* It involved a leaking bottle of ammonia which left a nice puddle on the counter.
Me: What's that? Mom: I don't know. Me: It looks like water...*leans down* Mom: I wouldn't do... Me: *sniffs* *dies* Mom: ...that.

Yeah... working on lab report right now as well. *still can't get the stench out of her nose*
By the way, the PM box tells me I have 1 message, but the message isn't even in my inbox. Strange.

yeah, biology was cool. and painfull.
haha, Aidan, nice...
Chemistry is even more stressfull. I know this one guys who had his glass tube get incinerated because of the acid we were putting in it. haha, scary stuff...
btw, do any of you know how to make a homemade bomb? i'm not a terrorist or anything but it think it'd be cool to blow something up.

Spica: I've had that problem with the message thing too... there is a little box next to the "message" (the "message" just says N/A, right?). Check the box and delete it. It's not a message, but... eh, it's weird. *sweatdrop* I looooove Chemistry. I've had such a hard time with Biology this year. All the experiments backfire on me. I don't know why. >_> The worst thing *ever* in Biology this year was... by far... hands down... the Perch dissection. *dies* That was HORRIBLE. I had fish in my fingernails... fish scales in my eyes... and everything I did went wrong... I even had to call Mrs. Rathbun. Eck, it was horrible. Baaaaad memories. >_<

I agree! The dissection was...disgusting, to say the least. The air bladder...the gigantic innards...the goop that oozed out everytime I made a cut... *shudders* And the smell.
I nearly threw up. -_- The frog wasn't half as bad. And compared to the perch, the worm and the crayfish were too easy.

Ugh, yes. The worm and the crayfish weren't too bad... but the perch... *dies... again* My perch's insides were all messed up. I couldn't identify anything. It was horrible. Actually, 'horrible' is an understatement. >_<
Did you get your anthocyanin-and-water solution to turn all the colors it was supposed to? And have you written the lab report yet?

It turned green and pink for sure...purple and blue, well, I say it's a matter of opinion. >_> Nope, I haven't finished my writeup yet... I've been working on another assignment at the same time. *makes mental note to never take 6 TPS courses again*
How about you?

*gaze shifts back and forth rapidly from Hataru to Elf*
I am sooooo glad I did Biology last year.
Here is my dissection formula...works everytime:
Dissection + [name of dissectee] = meh By the laws of anyone with a brain: meh = no By simple deduction: no = not on your life
*nod* *bow* *flee the place of evil science*

Aw, Alec doesn't want to partake of the pain with us, Spica. =P
The colors mine turned were:
Dark blue (almost black) Green Blue-green Gray blue Purplish blue Purple Fuchsia Pink
Very colorful. ^_^
Yeah, I just finished the lab report today. We're leaving tomorrow for San Diego, so I had to get it done. I need to take the test now... *meep*
Hahaha, yes, you know I love your dissection formula. ^__~

Wow. Either you're really observant, or I messed up(most likely, since I'm sloppy anyway ). When I finally finished the procedure, I just dumped the rest of the ammonia and vinegar into the water, which made a strange shade of murky pink. Nice formula, Alec. I'll be sure to use that the next time I do a dissection. Oh...wait, there won't be a next time! Huzzah! I can't wait to start Chemistry.

It could've been the kind of water you have at your house... the book said that the water could effect the colors it turned. *shrug* So, now we have three choices... either I'm really observant, you messed up, or the water was different. Probably the first or third option. ^_^ I paid REALLY close attention to the colors it turned... Mrs. Rathbun likes to pick on me, so I'm trying to make it so that she has no room to pick on me. *hmph*
NO MORE DISSECTIONS!! *huge sigh of relief* I'm so happy... when I finished the frog dissection, it felt like this huge load had been taken off of my shoulders... *phew*
I'm taking Advanced Chemistry next year. I'm sooo psyched.

Yep...biology is not my kind of science. I'd rather be stuck in my room all day studying quantum physics. (Which I'm interested in, anyway.)
You've taken Chemistry already?

Meh, I seriously despise Biology. I used to like it... when Mrs. Wheeler taught our class... but Mrs. Rathbun has totally ruined it for me. v_v
Yeah, I took Chemistry at home last year. I absolutely adore Chemistry.
