I couldn't help but notice that a lot of characters in this RPG have japanese names, and Japanese like profiles...
*Koff Naruto Koff*
I am just thinking that this RPG is suppose to encompass the entire world and many different ethncities right? I am not suggesting that you impose an affirmative action like standard on char creation, but it would be nice to see more diverse chars. Just a suggestion to future users. More diversity creates richer interactions ;D
Japanese rocks! Don't get me wrong... Just a thought.

It's a good point, Jenz. Alec is Russian. Really.
<_< >_>
Yes, that is a Naruto avatar...but Alec's really Russian!
*koff* However, in the world of earth3006, Japan was a major player in the former United Coalition, now the Resistance. So it would not be unusual to see a significant Japanese population in the Resistance. But I do agree with Jenz; a little more diversity would be nice. Although I count only two overtly Japanese members...so we're certainly not overboard yet.

I can't be anything in particular (robot), but even if I could it wouldn't be Japanese... since I'm a member of the freakin' World Government... maybe 1 of my "regular" RP characters is Japaneseish. And she's so in name only, almost.

I guess Shakora is a Japanese-sounding name... but I never really thought about what ethnicity my character is

My character is Brazilian. we need a little of the latin culture represented. i didn't go for the japanese type like most of you guys did. i think any new people should pick different ethnic backgrounds than japanese now, cause we already have enough of those.
how about a canadian??? lol...nothing against canadians, but for some reason they're made fun of just for being canadian...not because they say things funny or anything. i confess, i've made fun of canadians...

After making an extensive search of our memberlist, I have the following statistics to present:
American: 2 Brazilian: 1 British: 1 (2 if you count Antinomy) Dutch: 1 Irish: 1 Japanese: 2 (3 if we count Serenade in the loosest sense...but I don't) Japanese-British: 1 Miscellaneous Nationality: 1 Robotic: 1 (well, 3...but 1 playing) Russian: 2
Overall, I'd say this is a good representation of the overall distribution. Jenz is still right about keeping diversity in mind, but I don't think there's any need for anybody to be concerned with their character's nationality yet. So new people aren't obligated to choose (or not choose) a specific nationality, but I'd encourage them to be as unique as possible.
P.S. I have Canadian friends, and the reason they get made fun of is because they make fun of themselves. Our Canadian friend told us the following joke.
You know how Canada got its name? Well, they put all the letters of the alphabet in a hat and decided to name it whatever was drawn out. The result?
"C, aye." "N, aye." "D, aye."
*rofl* I thought that was the funniest joke ever about Canadians. (In case you didn't know, Canadians are known for adding "aye" to the end of each sentence.)

I believe you're the Japanese-American. Somehow I thought I knew that. Let me know if that's wrong...

Calm yourself, child. I put you in the miscellaneous category until I figured out your nationality. Geez.
Why did you think I thought you were Japanese? The only Japanese are Hataru, Kaibe, and half of Spica.
I'll move you from miscellaneous to Russian...

And depending on how he meant that phrase, Spica could be preparing to unleash balefire. ...oh...wait. Psychics don't have balefire...oh, and the code. Drat.
